Cheng Han Wu, the renowned designer from Interior Notions Co., Ltd., has created a masterpiece in residential design with Embrace Afterglow. Through thoughtful arrangements for massing, openings, and internal circulation, the design minimizes the need for environmental conditioning, ensuring that spaces benefit from ample sunlight, natural ventilation, and passive cooling.

The core of the Embrace Afterglow residence is a large-capacity living room and home table area that is open all day, suitable for gatherings and celebrations. The design blurs the boundaries between the living space and the urban landscape, with different levels of extended white marble sofas that offer spectacular views and refreshing airflow. The result is a space that immerses its inhabitants in nature, promoting healthy lives and a back-to-nature lifestyle.

One of the standout features of Embrace Afterglow is the curved wall mechanism that maintains decent light and natural ventilation. This not only reduces the impact of visual barriers but also creates opportunities for connecting public spaces, enhancing communication and convenience. The design also includes six independent bedrooms, each designed as a unit with a shared dressing area and restroom, ensuring privacy and comfort for every resident.

The Embrace Afterglow project was completed in Taichung in April 2022, after months of meticulous planning and execution. Cheng Han Wu and his team overcame various creative, technical, and research challenges to achieve the clean and elegant subtractive space that embodies simplicity and nature. The design creates glimpses of activity in the public and private areas through the gap between the virtual and the real, maintaining an overall unity in tone.

The Embrace Afterglow design has been recognized for its excellence and innovation. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2023 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category.
